Day 1: Arrival in the Capital
Upon arrival in Beijing, your tour guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel in the heart of the city. You’ll have some free time to settle in and explore the local surroundings before meeting with the rest of the group for a *** dinner at a traditional Beijing-style restaurant. Get to know your fellow travelers and enjoy some local cuisine.
Day 2: Discovering the *** City and Tiananmen Square
Today we’ll be exploring two of Beijing’s most iconic attractions: the *** City and Tiananmen Square. We’ll start with a tour of the *** City, the ancient palace complex of China’s emperors. You’ll learn about the history of the imperial dynasties and see some of the most incredible examples of Chinese art and architecture. After lunch, we’ll visit Tiananmen Square, one of the largest public squares in the world. Here you’ll see the Monument to the People’s Heroes, the Great Hall of the People and Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum.
Day 3: Climbing the Great Wall of China
Today we’ll set out early to climb the Great Wall of China, one of the greatest wonders of the world. We’ll take a scenic drive through the countryside to reach the Mutianyu section of the wall. Here you’ll have plenty of time to explore and take in the sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and the wall stretching into the distance. You can opt to take a cable car or climb the steps to the top of the wall – either way, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you’ll never forget!
Day 4: Discovering Beijing’s Cultural Treasures
Beijing is rich in history, culture, and arts, and today we’ll be exploring some of the city’s most important cultural treasures. We’ll start with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, an important religious complex where emperors once performed sacrifices to pray for a good harvest. After lunch, we’ll visit the Summer Palace, an imperial garden that served as a retreat for emperors during the hot summer months. Here you’ll see incredible examples of Chinese landscape design and architecture, including the famous Marble Boat and the Long Corridor.
Day 5: Departure from Beijing
Today is the final day of our tour, and we’ll say goodbye to Beijing with a visit to one of its most famous markets – the Pearl Market. Here you can shop for all kinds of souvenirs, including pearls, silk, and handicrafts. Your tour guide will then escort you to the airport for your departure flight, or you can opt to extend your trip and explore more of China at your leisure.
